Review:
Best selling author, Liz Curtis Higgs, touches the heart with her latest Embrace Grace: Welcome to the Forgiven Life. It would be hard to admit that there is any one of us who does not wear a coat (thin or thick) of guilt regarding something in our past or some current mistake, even though we know we are forgiven. Liz shares how an embrace is so much more comforting than a hug. An embrace truly has so much depth. Chapter by chapter she explores moving forward through embracing doubt, faith, truth, sin, forgiveness, repentance, and of course, embracing grace.
Liz relates to the reader as if she has been a close friend for many years, a big sister, or even a wise older woman in one’s life. She persistently writes of concerns that she has had, and those which woman have shared with her through the years without exposing any identities. I found the points that I related to were numerous and I would expect others would find the same. It is so easy to connect to Liz as she shares without condemnation, statements like “it is not about getting your act together. It’s about getting together with God.” Filled with Scripture for each circumstance, this book is a reminder that there is a heartfelt answer to every situation located in one book: God’s Word.
Read this for warmth, understanding, healing of hurts, and to help shed that which may be holding you back. Most of all, read this to move forward in your walk and know that you have even one more friend in Liz Cutis Higgs who has an open door and has “…been waiting for you. Holding this good news close to my heart, longing to share it.” She has been longing to share it with you. -- Debra S. Murphy, Christian Book Previews.com
