Review:

Having read The Breast Cancer Care Book as a breast cancer patient in the midst of chemotherapy, I found this extremely informative and encouraging. As I read through the early pages, I could identify with the process of the detection, waiting for confirmation of the diagnosis, and then beginning the treatment.

Sally M. Knox, M.D., provides definitions at the end of each chapter, which is extremely helpful, especially to those women who may be at the very beginning of this entire journey. As Dr. Knox states, "This trial involves the entire family when suddenly faced with the mortality of a loved one.

The spiritual aspects of this book are good, focusing on God and the Lord Jesus who gives us grace and strength to accept our circumstances, and knowing that He is sovereign and working for our own good. He draws us closer to Him through trials, and allows us to experience His very dear presence in such a real and personal way when we trust Him in this walk of faith.

I would highly recommend The Breast Cancer Care Book to any woman who hears those dreaded words, "You have breast cancer." -- Donna Bales, Christian Book Previews.com
