Bette Filley's Bio:
Bette Filley has been called a Divine Recycler. She can't stand to see perfectly good belongings go to the dump when there are hundreds of people in need of those exact same items. She has been on the quest of finding new homes for goods for most of her life, with her crusade finally culminating in her latest book, "How to Dispose of Your Stuff, Heavenly Uses ofr Earthly Goods."
She has been a professional writer for fifty years, and has a background in journalism, public relations, editing, freelancing, commercial illustration, and cartooning. She is the holder of over 50 national, regional and state awards for her work.
Her particular current emphasis is to help Seniors dispose of their accumulations, and in addition to her writing, she gives many talks, radio and TV interviews, and workshops on downsizing and passing excess goods on to worthy recipients. She encourages the seniors to "do your giving while you're living, then you're knowing where it's going."
Ms. Filley, of Seattle, Washington, is past-president of Washington Press Women, also past-president of Pacific Northwest Industrial Editors Assoc. She and her husband are parents of five grown children. This is her third book.
