Jackie Kendall's Bio:
Jackie Kendall has ministered, taught and counseled youth, women, men and couples for nearly 30 years. Out of her own battles as a survivor of sexual abuse, and the loss of her two siblings to suicide, she has risen from the ashes to become a best-selling author and sought after conference speaker.
Kendall speaks about issues ranging from sexual abuse to infidelity to depression. She is a regular speaker for Virtuous Reality Ministries and Pro Athletes Outreach, and she and her husband taught the spring training Bible study for the Montreal Expos and Atlanta Braves from 1991 to 1998. Recently, former Atlanta Braves pitcher and Cy Young award winner John Smoltz introduced Kendall and her husband as his “spiritual mentors.”
As the president of Power to Grow Ministries, Kendall has served as a mentor to countless women. When members of Virtuous Reality Ministries asked Kendall to present a session to mothers at one of their conferences, Kendall introduced “The Mark of the Mentoring Mom.” Later, she was approached by “700 Club’s” Lisa Ryan, who insisted she write a book on the topic of mentoring. From there, she wrote The Mentoring Mom: 11 Ways to Model Christ for Your Child.
Kendall’s principles of mentoring are the result of her own experiences and the realization that she had stamped 11 distinct images of Christ on the lives of her own two children. In The Mentoring Mom, Kendall encourages and inspires mothers to develop their ability to mentor their children, as well as to be mentored themselves by God. With heart-warming and humorous stories from her own life, Kendall illustrates the how-tos of mentoring by guiding readers through her 11 principles of modeling Christ.
Kendall currently lives in Royal Palm Beach, Fla., with her husband, Ken. She is the best-selling co-author of Lady in Waiting and author of Say Goodbye to Shame.
