J. Nelson Jennings's Bio:
J. Nelson Jennings is president of Presbyterian Mission International as well as a professor at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis. He received his MDiv from Covenant Seminary and his PhD from the Centre for the Study of Christianity in the Non-Western World at the University of Edinburgh.
Dr. Jennings served in Japan from 1986 until 1999 with the PCA's Mission to the World, in church-planting and pastoral ministry. In 1996 he became assistant professor of international Christian studies at Tokyo Christian University. He is currently president of Presbyterian Mission International (PMI). His research interests are in the embodiment of the Christian faith in relation to language, culture, socio-political realities, and other religious traditions. His ministry focus in the United States is to encourage American Christians to exercise their roles in God's worldwide mission self-critically. He is the author of Theology in Japan and the co-author of Philosophical Theology and East-West Dialogue and has published articles in both English and Japanese.
