David Jeremiah's Bio:
Born in Toledo , Ohio , Dr. David Jeremiah was raised a ministerís son. Following his fatherís footsteps to heed Godís calling on his life, Dr. Jeremiah earned his degree at Cedarville College, where his dad served as president. While attending Cedarville, he met and married his college sweetheart, Donna, before pursuing a masterís degree in theology from Dallas Theological Seminary, and later, a doctor of divinity degree from Cedarville College.
Dr. Jeremiah started Blackhawk Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1969 The church grew rapidly during the twelve years he served as pastor, expanding from a mere seven families more than 1,300 members. It was during that time that Dr. Jeremiah launched The Bible Hour television program.
In 1981, he and his family moved to San Diego, California so he could become the senior pastor of Scott Memorial Baptist Church, now known as the Shadow Mountain Community Church , where he continues to serve today. One of the largest churches in San Diego County, it is also home to San Diego Christian College and Christian Unified Schools, which now has three campuses within the county. Dr. Jeremiah served as president of San Diego Christian College for ten years before being named chancellor in 1998.
As his ministry at Shadow Mountain grew, so did Dr. Jeremiahís call to expand his broadcast ministry. In 1982, Turning Point Ministries was officially born, spawning Turning Point, a 30-minute radio program that is now heard on over 1800 stations across the world. A man deeply committed to teaching the Word of God, Dr. Jeremiah has been awarded numerous accolades for his tireless broadcasting efforts including the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) Broadcaster of the Year Award in 1999 and the Award of Merit from the Western Chapter of National Religious Broadcasters for Excellence in Broadcasting and Faithfulness in Service. He has served on the board of directors for the NRB since 1996.
In April 2000, Turning Point Ministries expanded to include the newly launched Turning Point Television, which is currently seen in all 50 states and reaches millions of homes nationwide through its impactful programming. Another trademark resource of the Turning Point Ministry is Turning Points Magazine & Devotional, which boasts a monthly circulation to more than 140,000 homes.
A highly sought-after conference speaker, Dr. Jeremiah is regularly featured at various conferences at Moody Bible Institute, as well as at Cedarville College , Dallas Theological Seminary, the Billy Graham Training Center, and numerous NFL, NBA, and baseball chapels.
Dr. Jeremiah has successfully translated his passion for teaching the Word of God and reaching the lost into an award-winning writing career. A dedicated family man, Dr. Jeremiah and his wife, Donna, have four grown children and six grandchildren.
