Tim Downs's Bio:
After spending fourteen years as a nationally syndicated cartoonist and speaker, Tim Downs extends his creative abilities to pen his first fictional work, Shoofly Pie: A Bug Man Novel.
Shoofly Pie is composed of suspense and subtle Christian themes. Downs creates his novel to have high-quality structure with an inserted Christian worldview. It is this intertwined idea, along with the unique storyline, that results in an action-packed, entertaining story.
Beginning with his involvement in Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC) during college, Downs remains a member of the CCC staff. He founded the Communications Center after seventeen years of service. The Center is dedicated to developing a strong foundation for Christians to become well-equipped communicators for "sowing” in the 21st Century.
In 2000, Downs broke into the writing realm with his first book, Finding Common Ground, which was awarded the Evangelical Christian Publishing Association’s prestigious Gold Medallion Award of Excellence. This book is a summary of his experiences from the past years dealing with others and the Communication Center. He emphasizes the evangelistic sowing concept where it becomes essential to develop relationships. He believes one must begin to ask the right questions as opposed to always giving the correct answers. Hopefully with this concept in hand, Christians can begin sowing the seeds for future generations.
Downs and his wife, Joy reside in Cary, North Carolina with their three children. They speak at “I Still Do” conferences across the nation, teaching marriage and parenting skills. They also co-authored two other nonfiction works.
