Christopher Parkening is one of the world’s most celebrated classical guitarists. The Washington Post notes that he is “the leading guitar virtuoso of our day, combining profound musical insight with complex technical mastery of his instrument.” He has performed throughout the world, and has amassed an extensive discography for which he has received two Grammy awards.
Christopher is Distinguished Professor of Music at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, where he chairs the Guitar Department. He is also a world-class fly-fishing champion who has won the International Gold Cup Tarpon Tournament (the Wimbledon of fly-fishing.)
He resides in Southern California with his wife, Theresa, and their son, Luke. At the heart of his dedication to performing, recording, and teaching is his deep commitment to his faith in Jesus Christ.
