Rick Burgess & Bill Bussey's Bio:
Rick Burgess and Bill “Bubba” Bussey -- aka: “The Two Sexiest Fat Men Alive” -- are featured daily on "The Rick and Bubba Show," one of America’s fastest growing morning shows carried live on more than 25 radio stations and simulcast on Turner South Cable.
Rick and Bill became friends in college while working at Jacksonville State University’s radio station. Back then, Rick was a long-haired, rock-n-roll singing, afternoon radio guy and Bill was the promotions director and engineer (they wouldn't let him have a shift other than the grave-yard shift because of his terrible southern accent).
After college, they pursued separate careers and Bill ended up as chief engineer for a station in Gadsden, Ala. When management was looking for a new morning man, Bill recommended Rick. They began to create ideas together for Rick's show, which resulted in Bill joining the broadcast to read Shakespeare in a bit called “Good Ole Boy Theater." The bit was a huge hit and soon “Bubba” (Bill) was sitting in for a few minutes a day and then the entire show! The duo soon moved to WYSF in Birmingham, which gave them a wider audience, provided them more possibilities and created a foundation for the future.
Today, the Rick & Bubba Show has been bringing family-friendly comedy to radio for the last 11 years. The show is clean, family-oriented, and addresses relationships, marriage, religion, politics, family life, and current events with a slice of unique humor. In addition, the show features interviews with some of the nation’s most notable journalists, authors, politicians, celebrities and business representatives.
In addition to the duo’s new book release, Rick and Bubba have released nine CDs of Rick & Bubba Show favorites including their latest, “Pull Your Finger.” The duo also performs as keynote speakers at special events across the country.
Along with their syndicated radio show, Rick and Bubba are also part of the rock 'n' roll band, Mr. Lucky. Mr. Lucky has toured the Southeast and has a CD of original songs called "Fat Chance," which has received domestic airplay on local stations in the Southeast and international airplay in Mexico, Great Britain and Hong Kong.
Rick and Bubba reside in Birmingham, Alabama with their families. Rick has a wife, Sherri, and five children. Bill has a wife, Betty and two children.
