Randy Alcorn's Bio:
Dr. Randy Alcorn, a leading authority on Heaven, has researched this often-misunderstood place for more than 20 years, speaks about it around the country, writes about it, and has taught a seminary course on it. He serves as the founder and director of Eternal Perspective Ministries (EPM), a nonprofit ministry committed to promoting an eternal viewpoint and drawing attention to people in special need of advocacy and help.
Alcorn has authored 20 nonfiction books and novels including The Purity Principle; In Light of Eternity: Perspectives on Heaven; The Treasure Principle: Discovering the Secret of Joyful Giving; and Money, Possessions, and Eternity. His novels include the 2002 Gold Medallion winner Safely Home; The Ishbane Conspiracy (coauthored with his daughters); Deadline; Edge of Eternity; and Lord Foulgrinís Letters.
He has also written numerous articles for magazines such as Discipleship Journal, Moody, Leadership, New Man, and The Christian Reader (now Todayís Christian). He produces the quarterly issues-oriented magazine Eternal Perspectives, and has been a guest on more than 450 radio and television programs including Focus on the Family, Family Life Today, The Bible Answer Man, Revive Our Hearts, and Truths that Transform.
Before starting EPM in 1990, Alcorn served as a pastor for 14 years. He has ministered around the world and is a popular teacher and conference speaker. Holding degrees in theology and biblical studies, he has taught biblical interpretation, theology, and ethics on the adjunct faculties of Western Seminary and Multnomah Bible College, both in Portland, OR. He received an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Western Seminary in 2004.
Alcorn resides in Gresham with his wife, Nanci. The Alcorns have two married daughters. He enjoys spending time with his family, biking, tennis, research, and reading.
