Ted Haggard's Bio:
Pastor Ted Haggard founded New Life Church in Colorado Springs in 1985 and it is now the largest church in Colorado (with approximately 10,000 members).
In 2003, Pastor Haggard accepted the position of President of the National Association of Evangelicals. He is also the president of worldprayerteam.org and a founding board member and trustee of the Global Pastors Network. In addition, he serves on the boards of Colorado Springs Association of Evangelicals, Every Home for Christ, and the Center For Christian-Jewish Dialogue. Pastor Haggard is Senior Editorial Advisor for Ministries Today, a monthly magazine directed to pastors and ministry leaders.
Pastor Haggard is the author of six books, including Primary Purpose, The Life Giving Church, Loving Your City Into the Kingdom (co-authored with Jack Hayford), Confident Parents, Exceptional Teens (co-authored with John Bolin), Letters from Home, and Fly Fishing, Dog Training, and Sharing Christ in the Twenty-First Century. He has also authored several personal study booklets and has produced many teaching series on audiotape.
Pastor Haggard is heralded as an international leader in the areas of church growth and evangelism. His work has been noted by Bill Moyers, U.S. News & World Report, the Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Washington Post, Denver Post, Charisma Magazine, ABC, NBC, the BBC, International News Network, and PBS.
Through Christian Information Network (CIN), founded by Pastor Haggard, he has been involved in Praying Through the Window I, II, III and IV. In those four efforts, CIN helped coordinate and mobilize over 100 million intercessors to pray for the 10/40 Window, the area of the world (designated by degrees longitude and latitude) with the highest percentage of non-Christian people.
In 1998, Pastor Haggard oversaw the completion of the World Prayer Center, a strategic center for worldwide evangelistic prayer and headquarters for worldprayerteam.org., located on the campus of New Life Church.
He graduated from Oral Roberts University in 1978 and worked as American Vice-President for World Missions For Jesus, a West German missions organization operating primarily behind the Iron Curtain and in socialistic countries. Before starting New Life Church, he served as Associate Pastor with Bethany World Prayer Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he helped to establish the Bethany Family Counseling Center.
Pastor Haggard and his wife, Gayle, have five children.
