Cindi McMenamin's Bio:
As a pastor’s wife, mother, women’s ministry director, national speaker, and author, Cindi McMenamin knows what it means to feel like you’re runing on empty. But, she also knows how God’s power to refuel and refresh helps her to go the distance, at a time when she otherwise couldn’t do any more.
In her new book, When You’re Running on Empty, McMenamin shows women how to refuel and refresh by keeping focus (with their minds), keeping fit (with their bodies), and keeping fresh (in their soul). In 22 short chapters, followed by pick-me-up prayers, women are encouraged to stay focused by starting their day in prayer, refueling with God’s Word, and knowing clearly whom they are trying to please. McMenamin stresses the importance of keeping fit by eating right, exercising, and getting enough sleep. She also offers practical ways to refuel and refresh by getting outdoors, regaining a sense of wonder, and remembering our First Love.
As research for her book, McMenamin helped some friends start up a health club, and now—in addition to writing and speaking—works part time as a fitness coach, helping others get into shape, stay fit, and keep from running on empty.
When You’re Running on Empty is McMenamin’s sixth book and a follow-up to her widely read When Women Long for Rest. In her preceding release, When a Woman Discovers Her Dream, she inspires women to find their unique purpose in God’s plan. Other popular titles include When Women Walk Alone (more than 80,000 copies sold), Letting God Meet Your Emotional Needs, and When God Pursues a Woman’s Heart.
McMenamin is a former newspaper reporter, has won awards for her investigative reporting and writing, and has authored articles for Virtue, Discipleship Journal, The Joyful Woman and other Christian magazines. Her heartfelt writing is also included in the devotional books Seasons of a Woman’s Heart, An Expressive Heart, Intimate Moments with God, Rest Stops for Busy Moms, and Starting Well: A Discipleship Journal Guide to Helping Others Grow in Christ.
A popular media guest, McMenamin has appeared on many national television and radio programs produced by LeSea Broadcasting, Moody Broadcasting, Crossroads Christian Communications, Trinity Television, North American Mission Board, and other networks.
